Bringing Agile into Bosch’s organisation, especially the IT department, in order to increase efficiency and reduce delivery time on new requirements. The goals were to gain time for more innovation and reach a better return on investment.
Challenge
Build Agile teams and integrate an Agile way of working in an high-pressure environment
- Start from scratch and deploy the IATM model with a very motivated client in southern Germany
- Begin the Assessment & Foundations after the first contact, to be delivered in a very interactive and collaborative way
- Kick-off the first wave once the roadmap was defined
- Support Bosch during 2 waves with small extra coaching interventions, such as the coach swap - a transformation practice where coaches from 2 different transformations take each other's role for a week. This method was proven to be very effective

Key role
Taking care of the journey including leading the transformation
- Assessment & Foundations delivered by 3 coaches in collaboration with client representatives
- Part of the work also applied to the executive business briefing - a semester-based session connecting all managers (approx. 500-600 managers worldwide) through physical presence at headquarters or online conferencing
- Transformation wave delivered by 2 full-time and 3 part-time coaches covering the roles of transformation lead, team coach and management coach
Results
Greater effectiveness and delivery time reduced from 1,5 years to 3 months
- Very effective collaboration, good results and encouraging initiatives
- Delivery lead time between requirements identification and operations reduced to 3 months, fitting the client’s objectives
- Work efficiency increased thanks to the move from written communication to face-to-face communication in the lead process.
- Agile rituals are now integrated in all the departments
